What are the best places to visit in Kenya for a first trip?

Most first-timers combine the Maasai Mara for wildlife, Lake Naivasha or Amboseli for a second park, and Diani or Lamu for a few days on the beach. Nairobi is worth two nights on its own.

When is the best time to visit Kenya for safari?

The dry months from late June to October are best for wildlife, with the Great Migration usually in the Mara from July to September. January and February are also dry and quieter.

How do I get from Nairobi to the coast?

Fly from Nairobi to Mombasa or Ukunda in about an hour, or take the SGR train to Mombasa in around 5 hours. We can drop you at the airport or the station.

How long does it take from JKIA to Nairobi city?

About 35 minutes to Westlands outside rush hour using the Nairobi Expressway, and up to 75 minutes on weekday evenings.

Do I need cash in Kenya?

Cards work in hotels and malls, and M-Pesa is used everywhere else. Carry some shillings for tips and markets.
